Ratings for the week Jan 1-7 in the US and UK.

12 01 2007

The Final episode of The Vicar of Dibley takes the honours in the first week of the new year, Dawn French’s sitcom going out on a high. Other than that it’s business as usual as the soaps go head to head. I added the 11th program just to show that this nation isn’t all Eastenders and Corrie, with the poor man’s CSI (Waking The Dead) making up the numbers. The next five places went to Emmerdale.

1. The Vicar of Dibley, BBC1, 12 million viewers.

2. Coronation Street, ITV1, 11.07 mil.

3. Coronation Street, ITV1, 10.96 mil.

4. Eastenders,BBC1, 10.53 mil.

5. Coronation Street, ITV1, 10.37 mil.

6. Coronation Street, ITV1, 10.34 mil.

7. Eastenders,BBC1, 10.22 mil.

8. Eastenders,BBC1, 10.07 mil.

9. Coronation Street, ITV1, 9.85 mil.

10. Eastenders, BBC1, 9.64 mil.

11. Waking The Dead, BBC1, 9.00 mil.

Still a strange time of year on the other side of the atlantic, the end of the football season raising ratings in the US, and regular programming for many shows not starting back up until mid-late Jan.

1. NFL Playoff, Pittsburgh at Seattle, NBC, 26.77 million viewers.

2. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CBS, 26.12 mil.

3. NFL Pre-Game Show, NBC, 20.29 mil.

4. Desperate Housewives, ABC, 18.71 mil.

5. NFL Post-Game Show, Fox, 16.8 mil.

6. Law & Order: SVU, NBC, 15.17 mil.

7. College Football: Notre Dame vs. LSU, Fox, 14.417 mil.

8. Shark, CBS, 14.416 mil.

9. Without a Trace, CBS, 14.19 mil.

10. Cold Case, CBS, 14.12 mil.

Not long to go now til the return of Heroes, Prison Break, Lost and Veronica Mars!
