Ratings for the week Jan 22-28 in the US and UK

1 02 2007

Idol idol idol. Every other network is running for cover. Fox had a stinker from September to December, but they are quickly making up ground. Other Fox shows placed after idol should start to feel the boost in next weeks figures. Expect House in next weeks Top 10, and maybe Til Death as well, which I think will be on after it. (I don’t know, I’m not there.)

1. American Idol (Wednesday), Fox, 33.87 million viewers

2. American Idol (Tuesday), Fox, 32.6 million

3. Grey’s Anatomy, ABC, 21.5 million

4. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CBS, 21.17 million

5. CSI: Miami, CBS, 18.86 million

6. Deal or No Deal, NBC, 17.61 million

7. Two and a Half Men, CBS, 15.85 million

8. Cold Case, CBS, 15.13 million

9. Heroes, NBC, 14.9 million

10. NCIS, CBS, 14.83 million.

In the UK, Celebrity Big Brother failed to make an impact in the top 10 despite the race row, and this top 10 is so boring I’m thinking of displaying it in some different way. I may come up with a cumulative total for the soap, a median based on all their airings in a week, or something else again. For now, it looks as if only two programs exist in the UK.

1. Coronation Street (Mon 19:30), ITV1, 11.29 million viewers.

2. Coronation Street (Mon 20:30), ITV1, 11.16 million.

3. Coronation Street (Wed), ITV1, 10.63 million.

4. Coronation Street (Fri), ITV1, 10.58 million.

5. Eastenders (Tues), BBC1, 10.33 million.

6. Coronation Street (Sun), ITV1, 10.04 million.

7. Eastenders (Mon), BBC1, 9.34 million.
8. Eastenders (Thu), BBC1, 9.22 million.

9. Emmerdale (Mon), ITV1, 8.87 million.

10. Emmerdale (Wed), ITV1, 8.64 million.
