Ratings for the week Mar 5-Mar 11 in the US and UK.. sort of.

15 03 2007

Fox is on a roll, with the top five programs in primetime last week belonging to them. Fox also managed to win five out of seven nights in the 18-49 demographic, with NBC winning the other two. With ABC and CBS’s major hits in repeats for the next few weeks, get used to the look of this top 10.

1. American Idol (Wednesday), Fox, 28.55 million viewers.

2. American Idol (Tuesday), Fox, 27.95 million viewers.

3. American Idol (Thursday), Fox, 27.52 million viewers.

4. House, Fox, 24.4 million viewers.

5. Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? Fox, 20.66 million viewers.

6. Deal Or No Deal (Monday), NBC, 18.39 million viewers.

7. Without a Trace, CBS, 17.53 million viewers.

8. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CBS, 15.451 million viewers.

9. Cold Case, CBS, 15.447 million viewers.

10. Heroes, NBC, 14.9 million viewers.

In the UK, Coronation Street rules supreme again. I think. The problem is that the mail guy is sick, and nobody has brought round Broadcast magazine for me to pilfer the UK ratings from. So here is what I’ll do. I’ll make an educated guess as to the top 10 TV programmes in the UK last week. When I get the ratings I’ll compare the two.

1. Coronation Street (Mon), ITV1, 12.35 million viewers.

2. Eastenders (Mon), BBC1, 11.76 million viewers.

3. Emmerdale (Mon), ITV1, 10.11 million viewers.

4. Dancing on Ice, ITV1, 9.01 million viewers.

5.”Some ITV Drama I’ve never watched”, ITV1, 7.53 million viewers.
6. Top Gear, BBC2, 6.53 million viewers.

7. Casualty, BBC1, 6.21 million viewers.

8. Match of the Day Live, 6.17 million viewers.

9. Generic old people drama, 5.98 million viewers.

10. Holby? Waterloo Road? The other one?, BBC1, 5.32 million viewers.

As I said, guesses. I will let you know how close my prediction was later today.
